THE NEW
AEC-1000 DVD CHECKER

A breakthrough in cost effective Quality control for
DVD-Video/ROM, DVD+/-R

AEC-1000 supports media including DVD-9 embossed disc and DVD+R double layer disc (closed disc).

The AEC-1000 checks DVD data quality and consists of the drive unit for measurement and the "ALChecker" error measurement application.

By connecting the AEC-1000 drive unit to your PC with a USB2.0 interface and installing the ALChecker to the PC, you can easily check the data error condition of a DVD medium.

Thanks to its user-friendly interface, you can use ALChecker simply and easily.

Feature and functions

1) Hi-speed Checking
In addition to the standard 1x speed (CLV) measurement, the AEC-1000 supports the 4x speed (CLV) mode that allows you measuring a fully recorded 4.7GB medium in approximately 14 minutes.
2) Graphic display
The checking status is shown graphically in realtime, so you can check the result visually.
3) GO/NO-GO decision
By setting the decision criteria, you can make a GO or NO-GO decision.
4) Three measuring modes
In addition to the "Fine Mode" that checks a series of eight consecutive ECC blocks, the "Rough ECC blocks every 100h blocks, and the "Quick Mode" that checks three specified areas in the "Fine Mode", are also available.
5) Save/load and printout functions of the measuring result
You can save the error graph, lead-in information and medium information to a PC and load and view the necessary information later. If a printer is connected to the PC, you can print out all of the error graph, lead-in information and medium information in a single A4 size paper.
6) Simple connection
The drive unit for measurement is equipped with a USB2.0 interface, which enables simple connection to your PC. Note that a PC must be equipped with a USB2.0 interface and run on Windows 2000 SP4 or Windows XP SP1, or later.

Measurement specifications
1) Data error measurement
PI : Counts the number of rows corrected by the PI error correction in each group of eight consecutive ECC blocks.
UncPO : Counts the number of ECC blocks in which more than one byte
uncorrectable error exists in each eight consecutive ECC blocks.
Counting numbers : PI: between 0 and 1664, UncPO: between 0 and 8
Possible measuring area : Recorded user data area (by PSN, from 30000h to one sector before Lead-out area)

2) Measurement speed
Selectable between "1x" (CLV) and "4x" (CLV).

3) Measurement Mode
Fine mode : Measures the PI/UncPO errors continuously within the range between the specified start and end address points.
Rough mode :Measures the PI/UncPO errors in eight consecutive ECC blocks every 100h ECC blocks within the range between the specified start and end address points.
Quick mode : Measures the three specified sections in the Fine mode.

4) Data display
Error graph and numeric value update interval: Every 200h ECC blocks (approximately 12 seconds for 1x speed, three seconds for 4x speed

5) Time required for measurement (4.7GB single sided single layer disc)
1x speed with Fine mode: approx 56 min
1x speed with Rough mode: approx 6 min
4x speed with Fine mode: approx 14 min
4x speed with Rough mode: approx 2 min

6) Supported media
DVD-VIDEO/ROM, finalized DVD+R/-R ("Finalized" means "lead-in and lead-out recorded".)
